Patrick was nominated for Best Actor in a Play and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical by Broadway World Houston for his performances as Father Flynn in Doubt and The Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz.

Teaching at Boston Conservatory

This fall, Patrick will teach Acting III at Boston Conservatory at Berklee for B.F.A. musical theatre students.
“Patrick Fretwell (assistant professor of theater) is a multifaceted theater artist with a diverse range of interests. He trained with the Tonda Bunraku Puppetry Theatre in Japan and has also studied stage combat, earning an actor combatant certification from the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) in unarmed, single sword, and rapier and dagger. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Houston and a bachelor’s from Furman University. The Wizard of OZ at A.D. Players
In the summer of 2025, Patrick will play the Tin Man in the A.D. Players’ production of The Wizard of Oz.

To find her way home, Dorothy must follow the yellow brick road to find the Wizard of Oz who lives in the beautiful Emerald City. But the Wicked Witch of the West threatens to destroy the team of newfound friends as they make their journey. This newly imagined production with incredible production value is fun for the whole family! “

Doubt at The Garden Theatre

In the spring of 2025, Patrick played Father Flynn in The Garden Theatre’s production of Doubt.
“Set against the backdrop of a 1960s America in the midst of political and social change, Doubt is the story of when a progressive young priest’s conduct comes under question by Sister Aloysius Beauvier, the school principal whose beliefs are deeply rooted in tradition. As the actions and motivations of each are scrutinized and suspicion mounts, the two are drawn into a battle of wills that threatens irrevocable consequences for all involved.”
All’s Well That Ends Well at University of Houston
In the spring of 2025, Patrick served as the Fight Director for the University of Houston’s production of All’s Well That Ends Well.
“The spring season begins in February with William Shakespeare’s “All’s Well That Ends Well,” tale of love, deception and redemption. A blend of comedy and drama, this timeless story explores themes of ambition, identity and the complexities of human relationships, reminding us that even the most complicated journeys can have happy endings.”

In the spring of 2024, Patrick played Tranio in Classical Theatre Company’s production of The Taming of the Shrew.

Georgiana and Kitty: Christmas at Pemberly at Main Street Theatre

In the fall of 2023, Patrick performed as Henry Grey in the regional premiere of Lauren Gunderson’s Georgiana and Kitty: Christmas at Pemberly.
It’s finally here! The final installment of the Christmas at Pemberley trilogy follows two close friends: Mr. Darcy’s younger sister, Georgiana, and the youngest Bennet sister, Kitty. It is Christmastime at Pemberley and the pair impatiently await the imminent arrival of Henry Grey, Georgiana’s shy, secret correspondent. When Henry enters a family holiday in full force and is met by the unwelcoming presence of Mr. Darcy, Georgiana fears her chance at love will be lost forever. But somehow, love always finds a way!
